Experimenting with Cartoons – (2012 )

Cartooning, my first love

Cartoons have always come to mind whenever I think about freestyle or free-form graphic expression. As an avid “cartoonist” since I was five, I developed my own personal style over the years. By the time I was seven or eight, I was drawing cartoons over pictures of celebrities in newspapers. Creating cartoons for my high school magazine felt natural, but once I got to college, I felt compelled to take art more seriously—putting humor aside and diving into architectural drafting, complete with 3D modeling, visualization, and compositing techniques.

Running away for humor’s sake

Ten years after finishing college, I found myself revisiting those old “habits” of not taking things too seriously. So I took a lyric poem by one of our beloved Romanian poets and “drew over” it in my own style.

I hope you like it. Check it out!
