PAUL SELING

The “Paul Seling” alias is my first project, focusing on genres like chillout, downtempo, chillwave, and synthpop. In recent years, I have gradually incorporated a retro, ’80s-infused sound, with vocal synthwave and retrowave influences.

The “Paul Seling” project offers a colorful listening experience, drawing inspiration from my entire musical journey—from childhood memories of growing up listening to funk, soul, and disco, to recent years spent exploring the most obscure indie bands. It features complex, rich harmonies, funky beats, and some serious songwriting skills.

If you ever need a playlist to easily relax to or play in the background while working, the “Autonne” project could be a great choice. Lo-fi beats mixed with jazzy harmonies and melodies, all supported by a retro vibe and heavy sampling of old records, create a vintage overall feel—you’ve got it all covered 🙂

I created this musical alias to further experiment with sampling, samplers, drum machines, and organic instrumentation. Somewhere between ambient, hip hop, and jazz, it will make you groove from the very first notes. It’s also perfect for a relaxed evening at home—cooking and enjoying a glass of wine.

Aniak is a laboratory of electronic sound. Every release challenges conventions, dismantles familiar structures, and searches for new relationships between rhythm, texture, noise, and space.

Sometimes critical, sometimes playful, sometimes introspective, the project treats music as an open-ended investigation rather than a fixed genre or aesthetic destination.

Photonnia is where I allow myself to ask musical questions without feeling obligated to answer them.

Every release explores a different possibility: new compositional ideas, unusual rhythms, unexpected sound palettes, fragmented structures, or entirely new ways of listening.

The project has no fixed genre. It moves freely between ambient, experimental electronica, IDM, glitch, noise, cinematic soundscapes, and occasional homages to artists who shaped my imagination—from Kraftwerk to Blade Runner-era Vangelis.

Rather than chasing a recognizable style, Photonnia embraces uncertainty. Every EP is conceived as its own self-contained world, with its own rules and atmosphere.

The 1980s were obsessed with tomorrow.

They imagined cities illuminated by neon, intelligent machines, digital freedom, and endless technological progress. Youthopian is my attempt to revisit those dreams—not through imitation, but through continuation.

This project isn’t nostalgic for the past. It is nostalgic for the future that the past imagined. Inspired by synthwave, chillwave, cinematic electronica, AOR, synthpop, funk, and the visual language of VHS culture, Youthopian explores the emotional landscape of an alternate timeline where those forgotten futures never disappeared.

Every release is conceived as a self-contained universe: a lost arcade game, a corrupted VHS diary, an imaginary film soundtrack, a forgotten operating system, or a city that exists only in memory. Beneath the neon aesthetics lies something quieter—a reflection on memory, technology, and the fragile optimism that once accompanied the arrival of the digital age.

Youthopian isn’t about reliving the 1980s. It’s about remembering the future they promised us.

Autech operates at the intersection of minimalism, repetition, and sonic experimentation. Using the vocabulary of underground electronic music while challenging its clichés, the project investigates rhythm, texture, and form through subtle shifts, unexpected contrasts, and occasional irony.

Each release explores the tension between dancefloor functionality and artistic subversion.

Phantomaas is an electronic born from an idea that has quietly matured for nearly three decades. Conceived as a meeting point between electronic production and the expressive depth of acoustic performance, the project explores the space where synthesizers no longer imitate machines, but breathe alongside real instruments, organic textures and jazz-influenced harmony.

Rather than pursuing trends or club formulas, Phantomaas embraces patience, atmosphere and musical storytelling. Drawing subtle inspiration from the jazz-fusion movement of the 1970s and 80s, alongside the pioneering electronic music of the 1990s, each composition seeks balance between technology and humanity. House grooves, broken beats, cinematic landscapes and natural sound palettes coexist without hierarchy, creating music that feels equally contemporary and timeless.

More than an electronic project, Phantomaas is a reflection on artistic maturity. It revisits the youthful desire to reinvent music through technology, only to rediscover, years later, the emotional richness of acoustic instruments and harmonic sophistication. The result is music that values space over spectacle, emotion over virtuosity, and quiet evolution over immediate impact.

The “Pixel Punk” project is primarily a YouTube channel dedicated to remixes and collaborations with local Romanian artists.

I produced a few tracks for the local community rather than the global audience, aiming to leave a “footnote” on the state of the artistic movement that has taken our entire country by storm over the past 30 years or so.

With this project, I also try to give people a deeper look into my production process, including video tutorials on creating music in Ableton Live and beyond.

I am always open to new collaborations with musicians both in my country and abroad, so I’m keeping this “slot” open for the unknown future. Stay tuned.
