Music
I have been making music since early childhood, and transitioning from a classical education to electronic, modern production has been an amazing journey. Over the years, I have gradually built my home studio and started releasing music under different projects and aliases.I’ve always felt a deep curiosity about the contemporary musical ecosystem and needed to explore all the genres that have influenced me through time. Here are my current six aliases, each focusing on a different niche:

“Paul Seling” ( downtempo, chillout )
The “Paul Seling” alias is my first project, focusing on genres like chillout, downtempo, chillwave, and synthpop. In recent years, I have gradually incorporated a retro, ’80s-infused sound, with vocal synthwave and retrowave influences.
The “Paul Seling” project offers a colorful listening experience, drawing inspiration from my entire musical journey—from childhood memories of growing up listening to funk, soul, and disco, to recent years spent exploring the most obscure indie bands. It features complex, rich harmonies, funky beats, and some serious songwriting skills.

“Autonne” ( chillhop, lo-fi hip hop )
If you ever need a playlist to easily relax to or play in the background while working, the “Autonne” project could be a great choice. Lo-fi beats mixed with jazzy harmonies and melodies, all supported by a retro vibe and heavy sampling of old records, create a vintage overall feel—you’ve got it all covered 🙂
I created this musical alias to further experiment with sampling, samplers, drum machines, and organic instrumentation. Somewhere between ambient, hip hop, and jazz, it will make you groove from the very first notes. It’s also perfect for a relaxed evening at home—cooking and enjoying a glass of wine.

“Aniak” ( techno, minimal, leftfield )
Aniak is my project focusing on the darker side of electronic music, especially experimental, leftfield, and sometimes minimal techno. I tend to work under this alias when I want to release energy and explore uncharted territories. The “Aniak” sound is dynamic and club-oriented, yet groovy and refined in terms of composition and sound design.
I often incorporate retro-sounding drum machines and synths while innovating in structure and bending genres. This project is highly recommended for a long night drive through dystopian landscapes or a late-night warehouse party.

“Photonnia” ( electronica, experimental )
I created the “Photonnia” project as a space for free experimentation in all aspects of music production. Whether it’s composition, rhythm, sound palette, or song structure, everything is completely open and open to question.
I can hardly define this project’s genre—it might be ambient, electronica, IDM, glitch, or noise, or you might even find a full tribute to Kraftwerk or the Blade Runner soundtrack somewhere within
If you’re in the mood for imaginative, mind-bending electronic music, “Photonnia” could be a great starting point. Perfect for bragging to your hipster friends, as it’s as “obscure” as it gets.

“Youthopian” ( synthwave, 80`s revival )
While starting to write chillout and downtempo back in the early ’00s, I gradually fell in love with the ’80s revival scene and began integrating more and more of these influences. After a few years of experimentation, this led to the creation of the “Youthopian” alias, which is dedicated exclusively to genres like synthwave, chillwave, retrowave, and chillsynth.
The “Youthopian” project mixes the vivid sounds of modern production with neon-lit nostalgia for the ’80s. I draw my creative energy from many iconic musical styles of the era—from glam rock to AOR, from funk to synthpop and EBM.

“Autech” ( funky house, nu disco, house )
I created the “Autech” alias with the ambition to dive into the club scene. It is also, in a way, dedicated to my college years when I used to groove to the emerging genres of the late ’90s, such as funky, deep house, and nu-disco.
Of course, I needed to put my own touch on all these productions, so you’ll often find my personal take on these types of music. You might consider this project eclectic, but that’s just part of my joy and enthusiasm in finally expressing positive energy and a look at the brighter side of life.

“Phantomaas” ( fusion, nu-jazz, broken beat )
The “Phantomaas” project is, in a way, a synthesis of all my previous musical explorations and also a tribute to my humble experience in my sister’s band back in the ’90s. With this project, I aimed to revive my interest in fusion, jazz-rock, and jazz, as inspired by our mentor—the group’s professor—who was passionate about these genres.
With every track, I strive to reinterpret those influences in a personal and updated way, thanks to access to new tools and devices. The result is a blend of jazzy vibes and electronica.

“Pixel Punk” ( remixes )
The “Pixel Punk” project is primarily a YouTube channel dedicated to remixes and collaborations with local Romanian artists.
I produced a few tracks for the local community rather than the global audience, aiming to leave a “footnote” on the state of the artistic movement that has taken our entire country by storm over the past 30 years or so.
With this project, I also try to give people a deeper look into my production process, including video tutorials on creating music in Ableton Live and beyond.

“unknown” ( future projects )
I am always open to new collaborations with musicians both in my country and abroad, so I’m keeping this “slot” open for the unknown future. Stay tuned.
